General Rules

Before You Visit

  • You must be on the inmate's approved visitor list
  • Book your visit at least 48 hours in advance
  • Arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled time
  • Bring valid, government-issued photo identification
  • Check the facility's specific rules as they may vary

During Your Visit

  • Follow all instructions from correctional staff
  • Remain in your assigned visiting area at all times
  • Keep conversations appropriate and respectful
  • Physical contact is limited to brief greetings and farewells
  • Do not pass items to or from inmates without permission

Dress Code

Acceptable Clothing

  • Conservative, modest attire
  • Clothing that covers shoulders, chest, and midriff
  • Pants or skirts at knee-length or longer
  • Closed-toe shoes

Prohibited Clothing

  • Clothing that resembles inmate or staff uniforms
  • Revealing or provocative attire
  • Clothing with offensive language or images
  • Hats, bandanas, or head coverings (except religious)
  • Excessively baggy or oversized clothing
  • Open-toe shoes, flip-flops, or sandals

Visit Duration & Frequency

Standard Visits

Most facilities allow visits of 1-2 hours. Specific duration depends on the facility's security level and policies.

Visit Frequency

Visitors are typically allowed 2-3 visits per week, though this varies by facility. Check with the specific institution.

Special Circumstances

Visiting with Children

  • Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times
